Morocco continues to consolidate its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing tourism destinations. According to figures reported by the Brazilian tourism outlet Brasilturis, the Kingdom welcomed 19.8 million tourists in 2025, marking a historic record and confirming the strong recovery and expansion of its tourism sector.

This performance represents a significant increase compared to previous years and places Morocco among the most dynamic destinations outside Europe. The growth is driven by a combination of factors, including improved air connectivity, upgraded hotel infrastructure, and a diversified tourism offer ranging from culture and heritage to nature, gastronomy, and major sporting events.

Brazil Identified as a Priority Growth Market

Within this strategy, Brazil has emerged as a key target market for Moroccan tourism authorities. The country is seen as a high-potential source of long-haul visitors, supported by growing interest in Morocco’s cultural identity, historical cities, and desert landscapes. Efforts are underway to strengthen promotion in South America and position Morocco as a gateway destination between Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.

Tourism officials have highlighted the importance of attracting Brazilian travelers seeking authentic experiences, longer stays, and multi-city itineraries. This approach aligns with Morocco’s broader objective of increasing the average length of stay and diversifying visitor origins beyond traditional European markets.

Infrastructure and Global Visibility Fuel Growth

The tourism boom is also underpinned by sustained investment in infrastructure. Airport capacity has expanded, hotel supply has grown steadily, and transport links between major cities have improved. In parallel, Morocco’s international visibility has been boosted by global events, including major football tournaments, which have reinforced the country’s image as a safe, accessible, and well-organized destination.

With nearly 20 million visitors recorded in a single year, Morocco is now entering a new phase of its tourism development, one focused not only on volume, but also on strategic markets and long-term sustainability. Brazil’s inclusion among priority markets reflects this ambition, as the Kingdom looks to strengthen its global reach and maintain momentum in the years ahead.
