A Strong Performance
Morocco continues to strengthen its position as one of the most dynamic tourism destinations in Africa. Tourism revenues reached 113.26 billion dirhams by the end of October 2025. This represents a 16.7% year-on-year increase, compared to around 97 billion DH during the same period in 2024. (Medi1News)
The growth is exceptional: Morocco has already surpassed its entire tourism revenue for 2024 before the year even ends. Travel expenditures by Moroccan residents abroad reached 27.5 billion DH, up from 24.7 billion DH in 2024. As a result, the tourism surplus — the balance between revenues and outgoing travel spending — climbed to 85.7 billion DH, reinforcing the sector’s strategic role in Morocco’s economy.
Strong Arrivals Push Morocco Toward a Historic Tourism Year
Tourist arrivals also played a central role in this rise. By late October, Morocco welcomed 16.6 million visitors, an increase of 14% compared with 2024. This upward trend, highlighted by international outlets, places Morocco on track to approach, or even exceed, 19 million tourists by the end of 2025.
Growth is supported by expanded hotel capacity, stronger global air links, and Morocco’s rising profile as it prepares for major international events, including AFCON 2025 and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
If the current momentum continues, tourism revenues could close the year above 120 billion DH, reaching national targets earlier than expected and marking 2025 as one of the strongest years in Morocco’s tourism history.
