Morocco reaches a historic tourism milestone with nearly 20 million arrivals.

Morocco welcomed nearly 19.8 million tourists in 2025, marking an unprecedented level of arrivals and bringing the country closer than ever to the symbolic threshold of 20 million visitors. The figure represents a 14 percent increase compared to 2024, confirming a sustained growth trajectory for the tourism sector.

Record arrivals and rising tourism revenues

According to official data, tourism receipts reached 124 billion dirhams by the end of November 2025, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 19 percent. Authorities describe the performance as a historic high, highlighting both record visitor numbers and exceptional foreign currency earnings.

The results reinforce the strategic role of tourism in local economic growth, with sustained demand and increased visitor spending contributing across multiple regions of the country.

The impact of the 2023–2026 tourism roadmap

The government attributes these results to the implementation of the 2023–2026 tourism roadmap. Key measures include expanded air connectivity, improved accommodation capacity, diversification of tourism offerings, higher service quality standards, and stronger incentives for investment nationwide.

These reforms have supported balanced growth across destinations, strengthening Morocco’s competitiveness while enhancing visitor experience.

Towards the 2030 tourism vision

Tourism Minister Fatima Zahra Ammor stated that welcoming nearly 20 million tourists in 2025 reflects a deep transformation of Morocco’s tourism model, driven by the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. The approach focuses on efficiency, sustainability, and tangible benefits at the local level.

This record year is seen as a structural milestone, opening a new chapter aligned with Morocco’s ambition to attract 26 million visitors by 2030 and secure its position among the world’s leading tourism destinations.
