Morocco Records 29% Growth in Russian Tourist Travel in 2025, Ranks Among Fastest-Growing Destinations

Morocco has emerged as one of the fastest-growing foreign destinations for Russian tourists in 2025, according to newly published data from the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). The figures confirm a significant rise in demand, placing the Kingdom among the destinations with the strongest growth worldwide.

According to ATOR’s annual ranking, several countries recorded sharp increases in the number of trips sold by Russian tour operators. Vietnam led the list with a spectacular 200% surge, followed by Egypt (+35%), Saudi Arabia (+31%), China (+29%), Morocco (+29%), Japan (+75%) and the United Arab Emirates (+23%).

With a 29% increase, Morocco matches China’s performance and outpaces several major Mediterranean destinations, underlining its growing appeal among Russian travelers.

Key drivers of Russian market growth

ATOR’s data is based on confirmed sales of travel packages by Russia’s leading tour operators over the past year. The growth in Russian tourism to Morocco reflects a combination of favorable factors, including the continuity of air connections, clear entry conditions and the steady improvement of the country’s hospitality offering.

Industry professionals highlight Morocco’s unique positioning, which brings together Atlantic beach resorts, centuries-old historic cities and vast Saharan landscapes within a relatively compact territory. This diversity is seen by Russian tour operators as a major competitive advantage.

Sector experts note that Morocco “maintains a distinctive place among Mediterranean destinations thanks to its developed infrastructure, perceived safety and immediately recognizable cultural richness,” reinforcing its long-term presence in Russian travel catalogues.

According to analyses cited in the specialized press, Morocco remains a reference destination for Russian travelers due to its geographical accessibility, dense historical heritage and varied natural scenery. These elements suggest sustained tourism flows between Morocco and Russia in the coming years.
