AFCON 2025: CAF Appoints Referees for Semi-finals Morocco Vs Nigeria and Egypt vs Senegal

CAF has named Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea to officiate the AFCON 2025 semi-final between Morocco and Nigeria at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially appointed Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea to officiate the highly anticipated AFCON 2025 semi-final between Morocco Vs Nigeria and Egypt vs Senegal, 

The decisive clash between the Lions of the Atlas and the Super Eagles will take place on Wednesday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 21:00 local time.

Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea will be assisted on the touchlines by South African official Zakhele Thusi Granville Siwela, Lesotho’s Souru Phatsoane, and Mozambique’s Arsenio Chadreque Maringule, according to CAF’s official announcement shared on its digital platforms.

Rwandan referee Samuel Uwikunda has been designated as the fourth official for the encounter.

Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties will be handled by South African official Abongile Tom, supported by Tunisian referee Haythem Guirat and Kenyan official Stephen Onyango Yiembe.

This semi-final showdown between Morocco and Nigeria is considered one of the standout fixtures of AFCON 2025, a tournament that continues to captivate fans across the continent and beyond until its conclusion on January 18.
