Morocco has been officially crowned “Best Destination 2025” by French travel group Voyage Privé, recognizing the Kingdom’s renewed tourism appeal and strong performance across European markets.

The award was presented to Achraf Fayda, Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), in recognition of a tourism strategy described as structured, coordinated, and strongly results-driven.

Voyage Privé Recognizes Morocco’s Exceptional Tourism Momentum

Founded in 2006, Voyage Privé is a leading European player in premium private travel sales, operating across several key markets on the continent. Its annual destination ranking is based on a detailed analysis of travel trends, commercial performance, and traveler engagement.

According to Voyage Privé, Morocco’s selection reflects an “exceptional tourism trajectory”, fueled by the recent initiatives and strategic repositioning led by the ONMT.

A Strong European Marketing Strategy in 2025

Throughout 2025, the ONMT significantly strengthened Morocco’s presence across major European markets through customized promotional strategies adapted to each country and traveler segment.

These initiatives included:

  • Targeted digital marketing campaigns
  • Television and media appearances
  • High-quality audiovisual content showcasing modern Morocco
  • Diversification of storytelling and travel experiences

The objective was to ensure sustainable growth by balancing visitor flows and reinforcing Morocco’s image as a diverse, high-quality destination.

Expanding the Map of Moroccan Tourism

The award also highlights the ONMT’s efforts to broaden Morocco’s tourism geography beyond traditional hotspots such as Marrakech and Agadir.

Destinations including Dakhla, Tangier, Taghazout, Essaouira, Béni Mellal, Fez, and Ouarzazate were actively promoted, reflecting a strategic vision centered on showcasing a plural, authentic, and experience-driven Morocco.

Targeted Action Plans and Long-Term Vision

To support this momentum, the ONMT implemented targeted action plans by market and destination, focusing on:

  • Upgrading the tourism offering
  • Reducing seasonality
  • Strengthening digital visibility
  • Optimizing distribution and sales channels

According to the ONMT, these strategic choices largely explain the strong performance praised by Voyage Privé and confirm Morocco’s growing status as one of the most attractive travel destinations in Europe and beyond.
