Like Marrakech and Rabat, Meknes is moving forward with a project aimed at strengthening its urban tourism offer. The city is preparing to introduce panoramic double-decker tourist buses, designed to improve the discovery of its historic and cultural heritage.
According to information reported by Le Desk, Meknes is set to receive two double-decker buses in panoramic configuration. The initiative seeks to modernize tourism services while offering visitors a structured and accessible way to explore the city’s major landmarks.
A Long-Planned Project for Heritage Promotion
The project has been in preparation for several years. It was already included in the rehabilitation and valorisation program of the Medina of Meknes (2019–2023), under an agreement signed in October 2018. Its upcoming implementation reflects renewed efforts to reposition Meknes as a competitive cultural destination.
Boosting Urban Tourism and Visitor Experience
With the launch of these tourist buses, local authorities aim to diversify mobility options for visitors, enhance guided tours, and encourage longer stays. The service is also expected to support local tourism operators and improve the city’s visibility on national and international travel circuits.
Once operational, the panoramic buses could become a flagship attraction, aligning Meknes with global urban tourism standards while highlighting its unique historical identity.
