In a story that’s gone viral, a 22-year-old Londoner named Muscab Salad decided to travel all the way to Marrakech, Morocco, just to get a haircut, and astonishingly, it cost him less than cutting his hair at home.
According to The Standard, Muscab discovered that a haircut in London costs around £41, while a round trip to Morocco, including the flight, a night in a hotel, local transport, and the haircut itself, added up to just £39.
The stunt, which he documented on TikTok, quickly captured global attention, partly for humor, but also as a reflection of the stark cost-of-living contrast between London and many destinations abroad. For Morocco, it’s an unexpected form of publicity: a lighthearted story that spotlights the country’s affordability, hospitality, and charm.
While the trip was more of a travel experiment than a savings strategy, it reminds the world that in Morocco, even a simple haircut can become part of a memorable cultural journey, and sometimes, cheaper than home.
