These new long-haul flights signal the national carrier’s intention to strengthen its position as a major African bridge to the United States ahead of the 2030 World Cup and during an important period for Moroccan tourism growth.

Expanding Morocco’s Reach Across North America

The upcoming Casablanca–Boston route represents a return for Royal Air Maroc. The airline previously served Boston and now seeks to restore that link due to rising demand from the Moroccan diaspora and higher U.S.–Morocco travel volumes. The Casablanca–Los Angeles route goes even further. It would create the airline’s first direct service to the U.S. West Coast, connecting Morocco with one of the largest Moroccan-American communities in the country.

These flights are expected to use the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the core of the airline’s long-haul fleet. Reports suggest that the choice of aircraft reflects the need for reliable transatlantic performance and fuel efficiency on the long Casablanca–California route.

Industry trackers such as AeroRoutes have also indicated that Royal Air Maroc is working on the technical and operational framework needed for these connections. This includes scheduling coordination, airport slot negotiation, and integration with the airline’s existing codeshare partnership with American Airlines, which would allow seamless onward travel across U.S. domestic destinations.

A Strategic Push Ahead of 2030

With Morocco preparing to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, national transportation infrastructure is undergoing an acceleration phase. New flight routes are part of this momentum. Royal Air Maroc is expected to support the event by improving long-haul accessibility to Casablanca and regional hubs.

Connections to Boston and Los Angeles fit this approach. They would attract visitors from both coasts and create smoother flows for Moroccan expatriates, students, and business travelers across North America. The new flights would also strengthen Casablanca Mohammed V Airport’s role as the main African hub for transatlantic travel.

Although the airline has not yet opened reservations or issued its formal announcement, the alignment of reports from several credible channels confirms that these routes are moving toward official confirmation.

Morocco’s Flagship Carrier Looks Toward the Future

Royal Air Maroc’s planned expansion shows a growing ambition to widen Morocco’s footprint in global aviation. If finalized, the Casablanca–Boston and Casablanca–Los Angeles flights will mark a meaningful step toward connecting Morocco with new economic, cultural, and tourism corridors.

For travelers on both sides of the Atlantic, these routes promise easier movement, stronger ties, and new opportunities that reflect Morocco’s rising global presence.
