Casablanca is preparing for what could become one of Morocco’s most ambitious architectural projects, the Atlantic Tower. According to circulating reports, the skyscraper is planned near Morocco Mall along the Atlantic coastline.
With a projected height of 390 meters, the tower would become the tallest building in Africa once completed. The development aims to introduce a new skyline identity for Casablanca, marking the country’s first true high-rise skyline concept.
A Mixed-Use Vertical Hub
The project envisions a multifunctional structure combining premium office spaces equipped with advanced technology, luxury residential apartments, high-end hotels and a range of commercial and leisure facilities. This mixed-use approach aligns with global urban development trends that integrate business, hospitality and lifestyle in a single vertical complex.
If realized, Atlantic Tower could significantly enhance Casablanca’s attractiveness as an economic and financial hub. The project is also expected to generate employment opportunities during construction and operation, while attracting domestic and foreign investment.
A Long-Standing Vision
The tower concept dates back to 2013, when national discussions about Casablanca’s urban transformation intensified. At the time, following public criticism regarding the city’s development strategy, several large-scale projects were announced to modernize the metropolitan landscape. Atlantic Tower was among the proposed initiatives.
However, the project was later suspended for reasons that were not publicly clarified. Its potential revival now signals renewed ambition to reposition Casablanca as a competitive regional capital with a distinctive architectural profile.
As Morocco continues investing in infrastructure and urban branding, Atlantic Tower represents more than a skyscraper. It reflects a broader strategy to reshape Casablanca’s image and reinforce its role on the continental stage.
