Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, has congratulated Morocco national football team and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou following Morocco’s dramatic victory over Nigeria national football team in the AFCON 2025 semi-final.

Morocco secured their place in the final after a tense encounter that ended goalless after regulation time, before being decided by a penalty shootout. The Atlas Lions prevailed 4–2 on penalties, thanks largely to an outstanding performance from Bounou, who saved two Nigerian spot-kicks and once again proved decisive on the continental stage.

Shortly after the match, Alalshikh took to his official Facebook account to praise the Moroccan side and their goalkeeper, writing: “Congratulations Morocco… and the lion Yassine Bounou.” The message quickly circulated among fans, reflecting the widespread admiration for the goalkeeper’s composure and leadership.

Bounou’s performance reinforced his reputation as one of Africa’s most reliable goalkeepers in high-pressure moments, while Morocco’s victory confirmed their strong run on home soil. With confidence high and momentum firmly on their side, the Atlas Lions now turn their focus toward the AFCON final, aiming to crown a memorable campaign with continental glory.
