Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, has confirmed the payment of qualification and victory bonuses to players of the Cameroon national football team following their progression to the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
In an official statement published on his verified Facebook account, the minister announced that the Ministry of Sports, acting on behalf of the Cameroonian state, had ordered the payment of accumulated bonuses as an additional measure of motivation.
“As encouragement and added motivation, the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, on behalf of the State, has just ordered the payment of qualification and victory bonuses, amounting to a total of 18,180,000 CFA francs (€27,715) per player. Long live a winning Cameroon,” Mouelle Kombi wrote.
The announcement provides clarity on the financial rewards granted to the Indomitable Lions for reaching the last eight of the competition, reflecting Cameroon’s established approach to performance-based incentives during major continental tournaments.
As the AFCON moves into its decisive stages, Cameroon now shifts full attention to its quarter-final challenge, with both sporting ambitions and institutional backing firmly in place.
