Marrakech is set to welcome Morocco’s first Kimpton hotel, marking a major milestone for luxury hospitality in the Kingdom. The new property, part of the globally recognised Kimpton brand, is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026 in Marrakech as a signature lifestyle destination.

A new luxury lifestyle address in Marrakech

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a franchise agreement with Sirayane Hospitality, a prominent local investor and operator, to develop Kimpton Marrakech, a boutique luxury hotel with 67 keys. This will be the first property in the Kimpton portfolio to open in Morocco, reinforcing Marrakech’s position as a top global destination for upscale travellers.

Located about seven kilometres from Marrakech-Menara Airport and roughly 20 minutes from the city’s historic medina and Hivernage district, the hotel is set within an emerging high-end area surrounded by scenic views, including the Atlas Mountains and world-class golf courses.

Luxury experiences and lifestyle design

Kimpton Marrakech will feature stylish guest rooms, an inviting lobby lounge, all-day dining venues, a serene spa, a fitness centre and swimming pools. A standout rooftop restaurant will offer panoramic views and gourmet cuisine, blending the brand’s signature design ethos with local influences.

The hotel is designed to become both a social and cultural hub for visitors and locals alike, reflecting Kimpton’s philosophy of combining expressive design with warm, human-centred hospitality.

Strengthening Marrakech’s tourism appeal

The opening of Kimpton Marrakech comes at a time when the city continues to draw a growing number of international travellers. Marrakech accounts for around 25 % of Morocco’s visitor arrivals, thanks to its rich cultural heritage, vibrant souks and historic attractions.

This new hotel also reflects Morocco’s broader strategy to boost luxury tourism and diversify its hospitality offerings, joining a wave of global brands expanding in the country.

Part of a broader tourism expansion

Kimpton Marrakech will be the third IHG property in Morocco, complementing other luxury and lifestyle hotel developments in key cities. The Kingdom has recently seen increased investment from major hotel groups, including upcoming projects from Marriott and Hilton, reinforcing Morocco’s reputation as a dynamic hospitality market in Africa.

With its first Kimpton, Morocco is poised to attract even more high-end travellers seeking unique experiences, design-driven stays and refined hospitality against the backdrop of Marrakech’s legendary sights and culture.
