Morocco’s tourism sector recorded an exceptional performance in 2025, generating MAD 138 billion in foreign-currency revenues, up 21% compared to 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy. This achievement confirms the Kingdom’s growing attractiveness on international markets and its successful positioning as a diversified tourism destination.

International Tourism Exceeds Strategic Targets

The 2025 results are particularly notable as they far exceeded the MAD 120 billion target set for 2026, reaching that goal one year ahead of schedule. Morocco welcomed nearly 20 million international visitors during the year, marking a historic record driven by the diversification of tourism products across culture, city breaks, coastal destinations, and nature-based experiences. This strong momentum reflects sustained investment in infrastructure, air connectivity, and destination promotion.

Domestic Tourism Reinforces Sector Stability

Alongside international growth, domestic tourism continued to play a key structural role, with spending estimated at MAD 48 billion in 2025. This internal demand helped strengthen the sector’s resilience and contributed to balanced growth across regions. Commenting on the results, the Minister of Tourism underlined that the record figures demonstrate not only an increase in visitor numbers, but also higher value creation, reinforcing tourism’s role as a driver of territorial development and a sustainable source of employment.
