Morocco is setting ambitious targets for the Indian tourism market, aiming to welcome between 75,000 and 80,000 Indian visitors in 2026. The objective builds on a strong growth trajectory already established over the past two years.
According to the Office National Marocain du Tourisme, Morocco received nearly 54,000 Indian tourists in 2025, up from 41,000 in 2024, a 31% annual increase. This performance comes within a broader context of record-breaking tourism figures, as the Kingdom reached 20 million international arrivals in 2025.
Structured Promotion and Visa Facilitation Drive Growth
Morocco’s progress in India is the result of a targeted and structured strategy. Since opening an ONMT office in India in 2023, the Kingdom has strengthened partnerships with local tour operators, contributing to a 123% surge in Indian arrivals in 2024.
The introduction of Morocco’s electronic visa system has also played a decisive role. The simplified process, allowing visas to be issued within hours or days, has reduced administrative barriers and encouraged travel decisions among Indian visitors.
Targeting High-Potential Segments
To sustain momentum, Morocco is focusing on organized group tourism, business travel, destination weddings, young couples, and independent travelers. Special attention is being given to travelers aged over 50, identified as a high-value segment.
Despite the absence of direct flights, with routes currently operating via Middle Eastern or European hubs, India has become one of Morocco’s top twenty source markets and the second in Asia after China.
With refined positioning and tailored promotion, Morocco aims to surpass 100,000 Indian visitors in the medium term, strengthening its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing outbound travel markets.
