According to official statements released on February 23, 2026, the airline is strengthening its Mediterranean and North African network, offering over 130,000 additional seats and 700 round-trip flights for the upcoming high season.
Connecting Madrid to the Heart of Morocco
The highlights of this expansion focus on two of Morocco’s most vibrant cities, facilitating travel for tourists and the Moroccan diaspora alike.
| Destination | Launch Date | Peak Frequency (Aug) |
|---|---|---|
| Tangier (New Route) | June 16, 2026 | 5 flights per week |
| Marrakech | April 2026 | 5 flights per week |
New Horizon: Tangier
For the first time in its history, Air Europa will fly to Tangier. The service kicks off on June 16 with three weekly frequencies, ramping up to five flights per week in August to meet peak summer demand. The route will operate until mid-September, positioning Tangier as a key gateway for Mediterranean exchanges.
The Return to Marrakech
The “Ochre City” remains a top priority. Flights to Marrakech will resume in early April with two weekly frequencies. To accommodate the summer rush, Air Europa will boost this to five weekly flights during July and August, before returning to twice-weekly service through mid-October.
Beyond Morocco: A Mediterranean Summer
Air Europa’s expansion also includes several other strategic Mediterranean capitals:
- Tunis: Resuming late May with 3 to 5 weekly frequencies.
- Athens: A daily flight from mid-June to mid-September.
- Bologna: A brand-new Italian route starting in July (3 flights per week).
- Alghero (Sardinia): Seasonal service from July 3 to August 30.
This massive rollout reflects Air Europa’s confidence in the 2026 travel market and Morocco’s growing appeal as a premium summer destination. Whether you are planning a weekend in the Tangier Kasbah or a retreat in a Marrakech Riad, these new connections make the journey from Madrid easier than ever.
