The road to the TotalEnergies CAF Futsal Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026 officially begins in Rabat, where the draw for the qualifying rounds will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The ceremony, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), will be broadcast live on CAF TV from 13:00 local time (11:00 GMT).
A total of 17 national teams will compete for seven available places in the final tournament, joining hosts and defending champions Morocco. The qualifiers will be played over two knockout rounds, with home-and-away ties decided on aggregate score.
The draw structure is based on the FIFA men’s futsal rankings, which determine exemptions and matchups. Six lower-ranked teams will contest the first round, with three winners advancing to face higher-ranked nations that enter directly in the second round. Top-ranked sides such as Egypt, Libya, and Angola will face first-round winners, with the return leg at home.
Hosting the draw in Rabat reinforces Morocco’s central role in African futsal, as anticipation builds toward the continent’s premier men’s futsal competition in 2026.
