Spanish club Real Zaragoza has announced a preliminary agreement with Moroccan international Jawad El Yamiq for his return to the team until the end of the current season, pending the successful completion of his medical examination.
In an official statement, Real Zaragoza highlighted El Yamiq’s experience and familiarity with the club. The Moroccan defender previously wore the Zaragoza shirt during the second half of the 2019–2020 season, where he made 14 appearances and left a strong impression thanks to his physical presence and defensive reliability—qualities that later attracted interest from several clubs.
A seasoned defender, El Yamiq brings with him a wealth of experience, having played more than 300 professional matches throughout his career. On the international stage, he has earned 41 caps with the Moroccan national team, including a notable appearance in the final of the most recent Africa Cup of Nations.
El Yamiq began his football journey at Olympic Khouribga, before moving to Raja Casablanca. His European career saw him play for clubs such as Genoa, Perugia, Real Zaragoza, and Real Valladolid, before a stint in the Saudi Pro League.
Now back in Spain, El Yamiq’s return is expected to strengthen Real Zaragoza’s defensive line as the club looks to achieve its objectives for the remainder of the season.
