Arsène Wenger Sees Morocco Among Global Football Powers

Veteran French coach Arsène Wenger has praised Morocco’s national team, stating that the Atlas Lions have moved beyond the continental African framework and are now capable of competing with the world’s traditional football powers.

In his assessment of Moroccan football’s evolution, Wenger highlighted the team’s modern structure, built on high-quality player development and the presence of numerous professionals in top European leagues. According to him, Morocco now belongs in conversations alongside leading European nations such as France national football team, Italy national football team, Spain national football team, and England national football team.

A Modern Football Model Built on Stability and Talent

Wenger pointed to Morocco’s growing market value and consistent performances in international tournaments as evidence of a deep structural transformation within the national football system. He suggested that this progress is not temporary but reflects sustained development over recent years.

The former Arsenal FC manager emphasized Morocco’s tactical discipline and ability to adapt to high-intensity competition, noting that the team often appears more comfortable in global tournaments than in certain African competitions, where playing conditions and rhythms differ significantly.
