Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final against Morocco national football team has gained an extra layer of intensity following reports of a significant financial incentive promised to the Super Eagles.
According to multiple Nigerian and African media outlets, Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Group, has pledged a $500,000 bonus to Nigeria’s national team if they defeat Morocco in Wednesday’s semi-final. The match will be played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, where Morocco will benefit from strong home support.
The pledge is seen as a morale booster for Nigeria at a decisive stage of the tournament, reflecting a tradition of private backing for the national team. While the incentive may fuel motivation, Nigeria still face a demanding challenge against a Moroccan side that has shown consistency, balance, and tactical discipline throughout the competition.
