Royal Air Maroc (RAM) continues to accelerate its point-to-point development strategy in Northern Morocco, unveiling a series of new direct air links connecting the Kingdom to major European cities. This expansion strengthens Morocco’s air connectivity with Spain and Germany while reinforcing the strategic importance of the northern region in the airline’s long-term growth plan.
After recently announcing new direct routes from Tétouan to Barcelona, Malaga and Madrid, as well as from Casablanca to Bilbao and Alicante, RAM is now adding six additional regular routes from Tanger and Nador.
New Direct Routes from Tangier and Nador Strengthen European Connectivity
From summer 2026, Tangier will be directly connected to three major Spanish cities:
- Tanger – Malaga (Mondays and Fridays, starting July 6, 2026)
- Tanger – Barcelona (Mondays and Fridays, starting July 3, 2026)
- Tanger – Madrid (Mondays and Saturdays, starting September 7, 2026)
Meanwhile, Nador will gain three strategic European connections:
- Nador – Barcelona (Thursdays and Saturdays, starting September 10, 2026)
- Nador – Frankfurt (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, starting July 2, 2026)
- Nador – Düsseldorf (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, starting July 11, 2026)
With this expansion, Royal Air Maroc will connect nine Spanish cities, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga, Seville, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Bilbao and Alicante, to five Moroccan cities: Casablanca, Laayoune, Tangier, Tétouan and Nador. The network will total more than 80 weekly frequencies between Morocco and Spain.
In Germany, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf and Munich will now be connected to Casablanca, Nador and Oujda, offering over 35 weekly frequencies between the two countries.
According to RAM Chairman and CEO Hamid Addou, the launch of these new routes reflects the airline’s commitment to strengthening Morocco’s tourism appeal and responding to sustained demand for connectivity between Morocco and Europe.
Casablanca Hub and Global Ambitions: A Strategic Aviation Bridge
This expansion consolidates Royal Air Maroc’s role as a key air bridge between Morocco and Europe. It also significantly enhances the connectivity of the Casablanca hub, enabling European travelers to access the airline’s extensive African and international network more efficiently.
By reinforcing its point-to-point model, particularly in Northern Morocco, RAM aims to position itself as a global carrier with diversified regional bases, including its newly opened base in Tétouan.
Tickets for the new routes will be available from February 10, 2026, via the airline’s official website, call centers, commercial agencies, and partner travel agencies.
As Morocco prepares for major international milestones and continues to boost tourism and economic exchanges, this expansion underscores the growing strategic importance of air transport in linking the Kingdom to its European partners and beyond.
