The Real Madrid Foundation has inaugurated its Educational Football Program at the American School of Rabat, marking the club’s first official initiative of this kind in Morocco. The project is delivered in partnership with Play Makers, a Moroccan organization specialized in education through sport. Together, they introduce a model that merges football training with personal development, offering young people a space where learning extends beyond the pitch.

A Program Built Around Values and Youth Development

The initiative welcomes boys and girls who will receive guidance through sessions shaped to develop teamwork, respect, discipline and self-confidence. Julio González Ronco, President of the Real Madrid Foundation, underlined that the program is not designed to produce professional players, but to help children grow through the values that football teaches when it is approached with purpose. His emphasis on education, character and social integration sets the tone for everything built under the Foundation’s philosophy.

Coaches trained in this methodology work on athletic progression while also nurturing emotional maturity, encouraging young participants to carry what they learn on the pitch into the classroom and into their daily lives. This approach has already proven successful across the Foundation’s international network, and its arrival in Morocco reflects how sport is becoming a central tool in youth development. With Rabat as the first host city, the program offers a structured space where football becomes a channel for confidence, connection and broader personal skills.

A New Step in Morocco’s Expanding Sports-Education Landscape

The partnership with Play Makers positions the initiative within a wider Moroccan context, where sport is increasingly embraced as a pathway for social integration. By choosing Rabat as its starting point, the Real Madrid Foundation connects with a city that already plays a central role in the country’s educational and athletic ecosystem. The program is expected to grow in stages, with discussions around future expansion into other regions as demand and capacity allow.

This launch reinforces Morocco’s growing attraction for international sports institutions. It also highlights a shared belief that football, when framed with purpose, can become a powerful tool to help young people discover their abilities, strengthen their character and move confidently toward the future.
