The 2025 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Morocco, has just found one of its main media flag-bearers: Radiotélévision Sénégalaise (RTS) — which officially sealed a deal to hold exclusive broadcasting rights across television, radio, and fan-zone coverage.
The agreement, signed in Lomé with New World TV, the official rights-holder for this edition, in the presence of RTS director-general Pape Alé Niang and representatives of the Togolese media group, confirms RTS as “the” continental broadcaster for the tournament. (RTS.sn)
RTS also picked up a symbolic recognition in the process: awarded the trophy for “Best African Television for Continental Competitions,” strengthening its position as a leading voice in African sports media.
For Senegal — and for many African fans — this isn’t just a commercial agreement. It’s a message: AFCON 2025 will be more than a football tournament. It will be a continental spectacle, delivered by one of Africa’s elite media houses, turning every match into a shared celebration across households, radios, and public viewing zones.
