After Morocco’s opening win against Comoros, attention quickly shifted from the result to the condition of Romain Saïss, who left the pitch injured. In the hours that followed, claims began circulating suggesting that the vice-captain could miss the remainder of the Africa Cup of Nations. At this stage, those claims remain unverified.
No official medical bulletin has been issued by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, and Saïss is still undergoing further medical assessments. These examinations will determine the nature of the injury and whether it affects his availability in the coming matches. Some confusion has also emerged around the presence of Youssef Belammari in team activities. His involvement was interpreted by some observers as a signal that Saïss would be unavailable.
