The egyptian superstar Mohamed Ramadan has announced that he will perform the official song for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted by Morocco. This marks a historic achievement, as Ramadan becomes the first Egyptian artist to deliver the AFCON anthem for two consecutive editions.

“A Major Honor for Me” — Mohamed Ramadan

In an interview with Nogoum FM, Ramadan expressed how proud he is to return as the voice of Africa’s biggest football competition. He described the opportunity as a milestone that reflects his growing presence across the continent, and a confirmation that African audiences have embraced his artistic style.

He revealed that during the previous AFCON, he worked with a Nigerian stylist to align his image with African fashion identity, while remaining determined to sing in Arabic to preserve his cultural and artistic authenticity.

A Song for a Historic Tournament in Morocco

The 2026 AFCON will be a unique edition as Morocco prepares a world-class hosting experience, with new stadiums, huge fan zones and a global spotlight. The official anthem is expected to play a major role during the opening ceremony, promotional campaigns, match broadcasts and celebrations across the Kingdom.

Ramadan’s energetic style, dance-driven visuals, and pan-African appeal place him as a strategic choice for a competition expected to attract millions of viewers across the continent and the diaspora.

Boost for Egyptian Music Across Africa

For Egypt, Ramadan’s return to the AFCON stage reinforces the growing impact of Egyptian pop culture on African audiences. It also highlights CAF’s strategy of integrating popular mainstream artists to give the tournament a modern, global, youth-oriented identity.
