Limited Minutes Raise Questions for Mazraoui
Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui is experiencing a noticeable drop in playing time at Manchester United, raising concerns ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Over the club’s last six Premier League matches, Mazraoui featured in five but accumulated only 21 minutes in total. Against Arsenal, Fulham, and Tottenham, he was introduced only in the closing moments, playing two, four, and three minutes respectively. He remained on the bench during the draw with West Ham before making a late appearance in the 1–0 win over Everton.
Growing Competition at Right-Back
The main factor behind this reduced role appears to be the strong form of Diogo Dalot, who has become the preferred option under the current technical staff. Reports also suggest United could target Julian Ryerson from Borussia Dortmund, a move that would further intensify competition.
