Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has expressed strong confidence in the current physical and sporting condition of Achraf Hakimi, praising the Moroccan international’s steady rise during the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 being held in Morocco.

Speaking at a press conference, the Spanish tactician highlighted the importance of the playing time accumulated by the captain of the Lions of the Atlas. “Achraf is in good condition. He played the full match against Cameroon and he will feature again in the semi-final. For us, this is excellent news,” Luis Enrique stated, underlining continuity and match rhythm as key factors in Hakimi’s return to peak performance.

The PSG coach also emphasized the positive impact of the AFCON on his player’s preparation for the second half of the season. According to Luis Enrique, the succession of high-intensity matches has allowed Hakimi to regain his sharpness and explosive qualities. “The more he plays right now, the better it is. When he comes back to Paris, we want him at 100%,” he added.

Crowned African Player of the Year by CAF and included in the FIFA Team of the Year for the 2024–2025 season, Hakimi continues to confirm his status as one of the world’s leading right-backs. With PSG, the Moroccan defender has enjoyed an outstanding campaign, registering 10 goals and 12 assists — a tally surpassing his best previous season with Borussia Dortmund.

As the AFCON semi-final approaches, Hakimi’s rising form also represents a major boost for Morocco head coach Walid Regragui and for the Moroccan public, who are counting on their leader to guide the Lions of the Atlas toward continental glory.
