This time, it is veteran football commentator Ian Darke who has weighed in with unusually strong words regarding the conduct of the Senegal national football team during the decisive match against Morocco national football team.
In a widely shared post on social media, Darke expressed admiration for Senegal as a footballing nation, but sharply criticized the events that followed a late refereeing decision confirmed by VAR. According to him, leaving the pitch, delaying the game for an extended period, and then being declared champions raises serious questions about sporting integrity.
Darke’s message argues that walking off the pitch and causing a lengthy interruption crosses a line that football’s governing bodies cannot ignore. He described the situation as “anarchy” and insisted that there must be severe consequences for such actions.
