Timitar Festival 2025: Amazigh Music Takes Center Stage Ahead of AFCON Kick-Off

As Morocco prepares to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the city of Agadir is getting ready for another major celebration:
the 20th edition of the Timitar Festival, one of the most influential Amazigh and world-music festivals on the African continent.
The event will take place from 17 to 19 December 2025—just days before AFCON opens—bringing together thousands of spectators and artists from across Africa and beyond.

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty The King Mohammed VI, Timitar returns with a powerful message:
“Amazigh artists welcome the music of the world.”
For two decades, the festival has embodied cultural dialogue, artistic exchange, and the preservation of Morocco’s Amazigh identity.

Since its first edition in 2004, Timitar has evolved into one of Morocco’s leading cultural events, attracting nearly
200,000 spectators every year. Its mission has remained constant:
