A Decisive Stop on the Road to the Challenger Series
The World Surf League has officially elevated the Pro Taghazout Bay to QS 4,000 status for the 2025/2026 Qualifying Series season. Scheduled from March 22 to 29, 2026, the event will take place at the iconic Anchor Point, one of the world’s most respected right-hand point breaks.
As the final QS event for Europe and the penultimate stop for Africa, the Moroccan stage carries major competitive weight. With only three results counting toward Challenger Series qualification, performances in Taghazout could determine who advances to surfing’s next level.
Junior Final and Morocco’s Growing Surf Ambition
The Junior Pro Taghazout Bay, set for November 11–15, 2026, will close the junior season for both Europe and Africa. After a successful debut, the event confirms Morocco’s long-term commitment to developing emerging surf talent.
Moroccan Championship Tour surfer Ramzi Boukhiam, finalist in 2025, welcomed the return of the competition despite being unable to compete due to international commitments. He emphasized its positive impact on national surf development and Morocco’s global visibility.
With Anchor Point and nearby Anza Beach gaining international recognition, Morocco continues strengthening its position as a rising sports tourism destination ahead of 2030.
