Moroccan Passport Continues Its Global Rise, Granting Visa-Free Access to 72 Countries

The Moroccan passport continues to strengthen its position globally, according to the latest Henley Passport Index 2026, a leading international ranking that measures passport strength based on freedom of travel.

In the newly released edition, Morocco has climbed to 65th place worldwide, improving by two positions compared to the previous ranking, where it stood at 67th. This progress confirms a steady upward trend in Morocco’s global mobility power.

As a result of this improvement, Moroccan passport holders now enjoy visa-free or simplified access to 72 destinations worldwide. These include countries that allow entry without a visa, issue visas on arrival, or provide electronic travel authorizations (eTA). The Henley Passport Index evaluates 199 passports across 227 global destinations.

Morocco Among Africa’s Top 10 Passports

At the continental level, this advancement places the Moroccan passport firmly among the top 10 strongest passports in Africa. Morocco currently shares its global ranking with countries such as the Dominican Republic and Eswatini, while narrowing the gap with Africa’s most powerful passports, including Seychelles, Mauritius and South Africa.

This progress reflects Morocco’s growing diplomatic footprint, improved international relations and increasing attractiveness as a regional and global partner.
