Royal Air Maroc (RAM) continues to strengthen Morocco’s regional integration by launching an ambitious plan to expand its domestic flight network across the Moroccan southern provinces. Through new direct routes and increased flight frequencies, the national carrier reinforces its role as a key driver of Morocco’s economic, social, and tourism development.
This strategic program, designed in partnership with the regions of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra, and Guelmim-Oued Noun, aligns with the Royal Vision for balanced territorial development and equitable access to mobility across all Moroccan regions.
“Developing domestic air connectivity, especially from the southern provinces, is central to our mission,” said Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc. “We aim to connect regions efficiently, enhance mobility, and support local dynamism.”
✈️ New Routes Linking the South to the Rest of the Kingdom
Two new strategic routes were inaugurated in October 2025, marking a major step in RAM’s southern expansion:
- Marrakech – Laâyoune: Twice weekly (Wednesday and Friday) at a fixed fare of 750 MAD (tax included).
- Marrakech – Dakhla: Twice weekly (Monday and Thursday) at 800 MAD.
Meanwhile, Rabat strengthens its connectivity with Laâyoune and Dakhla, now served three times weekly. From Casablanca, RAM increases its frequencies to Laâyoune, Guelmim, and Tan-Tan, and launches a historic Casablanca–Es-Smara route on November 6, 2025, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Green March, a powerful symbol of unity and national pride.
🌍 A Strategic Lever for Tourism and National Cohesion
Since 2005, RAM’s domestic offering from the southern provinces has grown from 6 flights to 63 weekly connections, representing nearly 1 million available seats in 2025. This expansion underscores the airline’s commitment to supporting domestic tourism, promoting economic exchange, and facilitating citizen mobility.
The initiative also aims to better connect southern regions to Morocco’s major economic hubs while positioning the south as a gateway for international visitors through Casablanca and Marrakech. The program will significantly enhance regional accessibility, attracting investors and tourists alike to cities like Dakhla, Laâyoune, and Guelmim, each a rising destination within Morocco’s travel map.
