A new lifestyle hospitality concept is set to emerge in Tetouan within the iconic Dersa building, a landmark known for its Hispano-Andalusian architecture. The international group Kerten Hospitality, headquartered in Dublin, has officially signed its first project in Morocco during an event in Casablanca. The property, named Cloud 7 Dersa Tetouan, will be developed in partnership with the renowned Moroccan jeweler Oromecánica Group, the creator of the celebrated brand Rafinity Joaillerie.

Reviving a Historic Building with Contemporary Hospitality

Located in the heart of Tetouan’s Spanish Quarter, the project aims to breathe new life into the historic Dersa structure while reimagining its interior through a contemporary hospitality approach. The design will celebrate the intertwined inspirations of Andalusian aesthetics and the artisanal craftsmanship of Oromecánica. The ambition is clear: to establish Cloud 7 Dersa Tetouan as a benchmark in a city rich in heritage and experiencing strong tourism growth.

A Prime Location Near Culture and the Mediterranean Coast

Just minutes from Martil–Tamuda Bay and Tetouan’s major cultural landmarks, the hotel seeks to attract travelers in search of unique, meaningful experiences—creative explorers, city-break visitors, design enthusiasts, and admirers of architecture and Mediterranean heritage. Its positioning aligns perfectly with Tetouan’s rising appeal as a cultural and coastal destination.

Rafinity’s Signature Craftsmanship Integrated into Hospitality

“Our Rafinity Joaillerie brand was built on excellence and a distinctive aesthetic. Bringing our craftsmanship into a hospitality project follows the same ambition: offering our guests an experience of refined comfort aligned with the spirit of our creations,” said Aziz El Hajouji, President of Oromecánica Group.

A 63-Key Hotel With an Experiential and Community-Driven Approach

Featuring 63 keys, Cloud 7 Dersa Tetouan will offer family suites, meeting spaces co-designed with Joontos, a cigar lounge, a lobby café, and a rooftop bar. The experiential and community-focused approach is part of Kerten Hospitality’s signature brand philosophy, aiming to connect locals and travelers through shared spaces and curated cultural moments.

A Strategic Partnership and a Boost for Morocco’s Hospitality Sector

“We are very excited to partner with Oromecánica Group to introduce Cloud 7 in Morocco. This authentic address, rich in artistic heritage, is the ideal destination for a new generation of travelers,” stated Marloes Knippenberg, CEO of Kerten Hospitality.

For his part, Imad Barrakad, CEO of the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT), praised the initiative as a project that “honors Morocco’s efforts to attract more operators in the hospitality sector, particularly within the growing lifestyle segment.”

A Project Aligned With Morocco’s Booming Tourism Momentum

This new arrival comes at a strategic moment for Morocco: strong tourism growth, rising international arrivals, the diversification of visitor experiences, increased connectivity, and the development of major infrastructure projects. “It is the perfect time for new brands to join and support this momentum,” concluded Kerten Hospitality’s leadership.
