Morocco’s national carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), has announced the launch of two special flights to Santiago, Chile, allowing passionate Moroccan fans to attend the historic U-20 World Cup final, where the Atlas Cubs are set to make history on South American soil.
Two Boeing 787s to Carry National Pride
In an official statement released on Friday, RAM confirmed it will operate two Boeing 787 Dreamliners with a combined capacity of 600 seats to transport supporters from Casablanca to Santiago. The national airline described the initiative as part of its mission to unite the Moroccan people behind their young national team.
The round-trip ticket price is set at 10,000 MAD (all taxes included, economy class), which also includes a match ticket for the highly anticipated final. According to RAM, the fare is non-modifiable and non-refundable.
Tickets and Visa Procedures
Fans holding valid Chilean visas can purchase their travel packages directly through Royal Air Maroc agencies. For those who need a visa, RAM advises filling out an online form on Chile’s official visa portal before visiting the agency. The airline said it will help fast-track visa applications in collaboration with Chilean authorities.
Upon arrival in Santiago, Moroccan fans will receive their stadium access tickets to witness what RAM calls a “historic final” for the nation.
Flight Schedule: From Casablanca to Santiago and Back
The first special flight departs Casablanca at 2:30 AM on October 19 and lands in Santiago at 10:30 AM local time. The second flight leaves an hour later, at 3:30 AM, arriving at 12:00 PM.
Return flights are scheduled for October 20: the first will depart Santiago at 3:00 AM (arriving in Casablanca at 7:10 PM), and the second at 4:30 AM (arriving at 8:40 PM).
A Moment of Unity and National Pride
In its statement, RAM described this initiative as “a moment of unity and pride for the entire nation.” The airline also announced that its agencies will remain open until 10 PM on Friday and Saturday to accommodate the overwhelming demand.
“Royal Air Maroc is proud to stand with the Atlas Cubs and ensure Moroccan supporters can be there to make history,” the statement concluded.
