Napoli have added Moroccan winger Abde Ezzalzouli to their list of targets during the current winter transfer window, according to Italian media reports. The interest comes as the Serie A side looks to anticipate attacking changes in its squad.
Currently a key figure at Real Betis, Ezzalzouli has established himself as a regular under coach Manuel Pellegrini, who relies heavily on the Moroccan international’s pace and creativity on the flanks. The player recently returned to club duty after representing Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Italian daily Corriere dello Sport reports that Napoli see Ezzalzouli as a suitable option to compensate for the expected departure of Noa Lang, who is close to joining Fenerbahçe on a loan deal.
However, the potential move is complicated by several factors. Napoli are currently subject to restrictions that limit them to loan signings only during this transfer window. On the other hand, Real Betis are reluctant to let go of one of their core players without a significant financial return, and are not enthusiastic about a temporary move.
As things stand, Napoli’s interest is concrete, but any deal for Abde Ezzalzouli appears difficult to finalize unless the two clubs find common ground on the structure of the transfer in the coming days.
