Moroccan international Munir El Haddadi has reportedly found himself stranded in Iran following recent military strikes in the region that led to widespread airspace closures.

According to French outlet RMC Sport, escalating tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran triggered significant disruption in regional air traffic. Several countries temporarily shut down their airspace, resulting in suspended or rerouted flights across parts of the Middle East.

Munir, who currently plays for Esteghlal Tehran, was on board a flight preparing to leave Iran when the situation unfolded. Authorities reportedly required passengers to disembark, forcing him to return to the airport as uncertainty grew over outgoing flights.

With commercial air travel disrupted, the former FC Barcelona forward is now expected to attempt a land departure toward Turkey. The proposed route would take him north to the Bazargan border crossing, a journey that could extend for several hours by road.

The situation highlights how geopolitical tensions can directly affect professional athletes competing abroad. While no official statement has been issued by the player or his club, the priority remains ensuring safe passage out of the country as regional air traffic gradually stabilizes.
