As the countdown to 21 December 2025 continues, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially taken operational control of nine Moroccan stadiums, marking one of the most decisive steps toward the kickoff of AFCON 2025. This milestone follows weeks of joint coordination between CAF’s venue teams and their Moroccan counterparts, ensuring that every match site, training facility and logistics hub meets continental tournament standards.
Nine Stadiums Approved, Branded, and Handed Over
CAF teams began on-site operations immediately after receiving full access to the stadiums. Their work now focuses on branding, technical installations, security pathways, VIP routing, and all match-day logistics.
The confirmed venues include:
- Rabat (4 stadiums)
- Tangier
- Fes
- Marrakech
- Agadir
- Mohammed V Stadium – Casablanca
Inside these stadiums, specialists are already installing AFCON-specific signage, broadcast structures, advertising boards, and dedicated access points for teams, referees, officials, and distinguished guests. CAF has also appointed venue coordinators who will work in tandem with Moroccan management teams throughout the competition.
Training Grounds Assigned to Each National Team
CAF’s logistics committees have also taken charge of all designated training facilities, ensuring each participating nation receives an exclusive training pitch. Additional fields have been assigned to referees in every host city, guaranteeing consistent match-condition environments for officials.
Hotel inspections have been completed as well. CAF validated all five-star national-team hotels, plus the accommodation reserved for referees, delegations, and organizing bodies. These approvals confirm that mobility, security, and hospitality standards align with the requirements of a major continental tournament.
Record-Breaking Ticket Sales Signal Massive Fan Demand
Beyond infrastructure, AFCON 2025 is already setting benchmarks: ticket sales have reportedly approached one million, an unprecedented figure reached in record time. This early surge reflects Morocco’s global football appeal and the anticipation surrounding the kingdom’s biggest football event before the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
What Fans Should Expect
The official takeover of stadiums signals that AFCON 2025 has moved into its final operational phase. For supporters traveling to Morocco, this means:
- Venue logistics are now finalized
- Training sites and hotels for teams are confirmed
- Stadium branding and fan-flow systems are in implementation
- Match-day operations will follow CAF’s standardized procedures
Morocco’s infrastructure is not only ready, it is now under full CAF tournament mode.
