CAF has signed a new agreement naming KONAMI the Official Gaming Sponsor of AFCON 2025 and 2027. The partnership brings Africa’s biggest football tournament into eFootball, allowing national teams, stadiums and AFCON atmospheres to appear inside one of the world’s most played football games. The announcement was confirmed by CAF and KONAMI at the start of December 2025, marking a major step in the Confederation’s digital strategy. (CAF Online)

For CAF, the move expands AFCON beyond traditional broadcasting. It becomes a competition that fans can experience on the pitch and on their screens, creating new ways for young supporters to connect with the tournament. For KONAMI, the deal introduces fresh talent, new visuals and the pulse of African football into its global gaming platform.

The partnership reflects a wider shift in how football reaches audiences. AFCON Morocco 2025 is expected to draw record engagement, and its digital presence will now match that ambition. With this collaboration, African football enters the gaming world not as a guest, but as a fully recognized part of the global game.
