With less than two weeks before the start of the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Atlas Lions captain Achraf Hakimi is preparing to return home to complete the last and most decisive stage of his rehabilitation.

Paris Saint-Germain’s latest medical update confirmed that Achraf Hakimi is progressing through a structured, accelerated recovery program.
To ensure he is fully fit ahead of the opening match of
AFCON Morocco 2025, the Moroccan star will travel back to the Kingdom to undergo the final phase of his re-athletization.

According to RMC journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Hakimi
“will travel to Morocco to continue his reconditioning and prepare for AFCON.

A member of PSG’s medical staff will accompany him to guarantee continuous monitoring.
The aim is for Hakimi to return to PSG after the AFCON in optimal physical condition.”

Hawkins also noted that the medical teams of Morocco and PSG are working in full coordination
to avoid any risk while ensuring the right-back reaches match readiness in time.

Hakimi Steps Up Training as AFCON Approaches

Earlier this week, Hakimi resumed running and individual drills at Camp des Loges, PSG’s training center, as part of an intensive reconditioning plan.

The Moroccan defender suffered a severe left ankle sprain on November 4 after a challenge from Luis Díaz during PSG’s UEFA Champions League match against Bayern Munich (1–2).

Since then, Hakimi has been undergoing an intense rehabilitation program, accumulating 5–6 hours of physiotherapy per day between France, Spain, and Morocco.
His determination and rapid progress have impressed both national and club medical staff.

His return is especially important as the Atlas Lions prepare for a historic AFCON hosted on home soil,
where Hakimi is expected to play a central leadership role.
