Morocco’s traditional caftan has been officially added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, celebrating its cultural significance, craftsmanship, and centuries-old legacy.

Morocco has begun the formal process to register the traditional craft of zellige from Fès and Tétouan on UNESCO’s Intangible Heritage list, an effort that celebrates the mosaic art, its artisans and its future.
